Early Career Travel Grants
SIGHPC travel grants for early career professionals
SIGHPC offers travel grants to help early career professionals attend the annual SC conference.
Early career professionals working in the high performance computing field in any country, and who are members of SIGHPC.
An applicant is considered early-career if they have less than 7 years of full-time experience in the field.
Applicants do not have to be making a presentation at SC, but they need to describe why they will benefit from attending the conference.
Quantity: Up to 6 travel scholarships will be made for attending SC22 (Dallas, TX, November 13-18, 2022)
What's included: Expenses are reimbursed for up to
$600 for recipients from organizations based in North America
$1,200 for travel from another continent
In addition to funding travel expenses, awardees will receive complimentary conference registration and will be assigned a mentor.
SIGHPC encourages the applicant's institution to match the grant and to recognize the applicant's achievement locally within their department. This is not a requirement of the award.
Applications are due October 7, 2022, with notifications provided by October 12, 2022. To apply, you must provide the following:
simple budget (including conference registration fee)
statement of why you wish to attend SC and what you hope to gain
letter of support from your advisor or supervisor referencing any institutional support or recognition that will be provided
a completed application
In order to be considered for a grant, the application must be complete and the letter of recommendation submitted on or before the application closes.
