Meeting Your Needs - SIGHPC Immersion

For HPC Newcomers

SIGHPC Immersion is a launchpad for undergraduates early in their studies to discover real careers in computer science, computer engineering, and computational science. Guided by mentors, students dive into the SC Technical Program and get hands-on with panels, labs, workshops, and small-group mentoring — building skills, confidence, and connections across the HPC community.

You’ll get exposure to HPC/AI career paths, practical learning sessions, and meaningful engagement with experts and peers.

How do I apply?

Interested students who meet the qualifications apply by completing the application form.

We understand that students that are in the early stages of their academic path may not know many professionals or faculty yet, so the requested recommendations are viewed as a support document as opposed to a critical factor in the application. Please reach out to us if you have any difficulties finding a recommendation.

We expect each participant to attend the entire conference in-person. As balancing school and the conference can be a challenge, students will need to work with their faculty and/or academic advisor to determine how to move assignment dates or complete work early. We are happy to work with the students that get accepted to determine what works best for them.
